It is important your GRAY-NICOLLS Cricket Bat is thoroughly prepared before being used. 

Our cricket bats can be classified by the following terms:

• Natural 
  These are Natural finished bats that don't have Extratec, Bladetec or Fibretec Facing. They also are required to be hand knocked in, with GRAY-NICOLLS recommending at least six hours of knocking in. 
  
• Ready Play
  These GRAY-NICOLLS cricket bats have been prepared with Extratec featuring on the face, however they still require 1-2 hours of hand knocking in with a Bat Mallet. 
  
• Play Now 
  This technology is one of GRAY-NICOLLS' newest innovations with bats fully ready to be used that are labelled with "Play Now". These have been pre-prepared with pressing, oiling and have been hand knocked in. The bats also feature Shoe Goo and Extratec.
