Matthew Hayden will swing his bat on Boxing Day with more PINK than ever before
Australian opening batsman Matthew Hayden, in association with bat sponsor GRAY-NICOLLS, will endorse pink gloves and pink bat stickers to continue to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research in Australia during the Boxing Day Test against India at the MCG.
The bats that Matthew Hayden will release on Boxing Day are now available at good cricket retailers with a $50.00 donation to breast cancer research from the sale of each bat.
Hayden has been on the front foot in support of breast cancer research since the last Ashes series and is amazed with the progress that the GRAY-NICOLLS-led campaign has made.
"We have achieved great things so far in raising funds and awareness for breast cancer. I hope that by wearing pink gloves and using a new look pink bat we can go another step forward."
"Nothing will be bigger than the Boxing Day Test in front of more than 100,000 people so I am very much looking forward to doing what I can for a great cause" said Hayden.
GRAY-NICOLLS has raised well over $60,000, of which $30,000 has come from pink grip sales alone ($1.00 from each grip sold is donated), for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and will continue its efforts in 2008.
